President Trump officially accepted his party’s nomination for president in an address to over 1,000 supporters on the White House lawn. The fourth and final night of the Republican National Convention officially kicked off the fall campaign season.
Donald Trump told supporters on the WH South Lawn, “our thoughts are with the wonderful people who have just come through the wrath of Hurricane Laura,” announcing he’ll visit this weekend, “and congratulations, thank you for that great job out there, we really appreciate it.”
Fox anchor Chris Wallace said the speech was “surprisingly flat” and lacked “the bite” that Trump’s remarks usually have.
One of Wallace’s colleagues, Brit Hume, agreed that the 70-minute speech was “very long.”
