Botswana’s President Mokgweetsi Masisi has been has been placed on quarantine, along with his whole cabinet and the entire parliament.
This decision was arrived at after a nurse who was testing legislators for coronavirus was later confirmed positive.
Health minister Lemogang Kwape told parliament that all 63 Mps of the ruling party who has interacted with the health worker must be in isolation for 14 days.
This is the second time for the President to be placed in isolation after his 1st episode upon travelling to the neigbouring Namimbia which had 3 cases then.
These news come when Africa is experiencing an increase in the reported cases of Covid19 with 10000 positive cases and 500 deaths which is the beginning as per health officials.
Covid19 could hit impoverished nations harder than the developed nations which have a capacity to deal with the pandemic despite the many losses reported.
