Protesters overrun a Minneapolis police building and set it aflame as officers retreat.

Protesters outside the Third Police Precinct in Minneapolis on Thursday night

Protesters broke windows and charged over fences to breach a police precinct in Minneapolis and set it on fire late Thursday as demonstration against the killing of George Floyd entered its 3rd day. Mr. Floyd was filmed struggling to breathe this week as a Minneapolis police officer pressed his knee against the man’s neck

Gov. Tim Walz activated the National Guard and sent 500 members of the Minnesota National Guard to Minneapolis and St. Paul, the capital, when he saw the level of destruction — buildings on fire, clashes with the police and looted stores.

The fire at the MPD’s 3rd Precinct was only at one corner 5 minutes ago. It’s now spread across the entire building. With no firefighters on scene… that building will likely be destroyed tonight.
