Kenyas President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy Dr William Ruto will take an 80% pay cut in the wake of Coronavirus 30% for Cabinet Secretaries and CASs while PS will have a 20% pay cut. This should be extended to other arms of government.
In his public address, the President was positive that Kenya will defeat this virus with 1 patient fully recovered from the virus.
Kenya will remain ahead of the curve in the ongoing war with strict protocols on testing and quarantine with support from her partners.
In order to win this war, the Head Of State invoked PUBLIC ORDER No. 1 COMES TO FORCE- Effective Friday (27th March 2020), daily curfew from 7pm to 5am
For the common Wanjiku who is hard hit by this scourge, the President gave a 100% tax relief for those earning a gross salary of up to Ksh 24,000 with a 30% to 25% reduction on PAYE.
The elderly, orphaned and other vulnerable groups under the Cash Transfer Programme (CTP) through ministry of labor and social services will get 10 billion in this campaign against Coronavirus.
Most notable was the Ferry operations which according to the President will be managed by National Police Service, Kenya Coast Guard and National Government Administration Officers – NGAOS
