The federal office responsible for immigration services such as green cards and naturalizations announced late Tuesday it is closing its offices.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced all offices would close through the end of the month.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will remain open only for “limited emergency services.”
“USCIS field offices will send notices to applicants and petitioners with scheduled appointments and naturalization ceremonies impacted by this closure. USCIS asylum offices will send interview cancellation notices and automatically reschedule asylum interviews,” according to the agency.
