Nakuru County, London Ward MCA Sammy Mbugua is dead

The ugly face of death has once again struck the County Assembly of Nakuru with the death of Hon Sammy Mbugua of London County.

The county lawmaker succumbed to suspected COVID-19 complications on Wednesday evening, November 18 at around 10 pm.

The minority leader in the Nakuru County Assembly, Peter Palanga, has however disputed claims that the MCA died of Covid-19. He claimed that Mbugua died of a disorder of the pancreas.

He was last seen in public on Saturday during the burial ceremony of Hells Gate MCA Njuguna, in Naivasha.

Hon. Mbugua’s death comes barely a week after losing Hells Gate MCA John ‘Wa Susi’ Njuguna to COVID-19 complications.

Confirming his death, Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui mourned the deceased. He said that he was an honest and hardworking leader who was dedicated to resolving problems of his constituents.

“Sammy had a unique responsibility of representing a highly multi-ethnic ward, which gave him a broader and more balanced political approach,” he stated.
